Art Manifesto

Full Manifesto Text
I am for an art that seeps into your pores, sits on your tongue, slides down your throat, fills you with fullness, and leaves you wanting more.
I am for an art that is smart.
I am for an art that makes you smarter.
I am for an art that is conceptual-meaningful-thoughtful-intentional.
I am for an art that makes you pause, and listen, and rest.
I am for an art that helps you laugh, sob, dance, shout, leap, breathe, celebrate life.
I am for an art that helps you remember—summer day, lemonade, cherries fade.
I am for an art that engages, forces you to feel—different, new, raw.
I am for an art that is different, new, raw—for you—for me.
I am for an art that is beautiful. Or not.
I am for an art that is open.
I am for an art that punches you in the gut, makes you double over, overthink, rethink, think less, Lesson 1 is to fight back.
I am for an art that is forgettable but permanent.
I am for an art that is ephemeral but memorable.
I am for an art that takes time.
I am for an art that strikes like lightning, fades like mist, sits like mountains, flows like streams, pops like bubbles, rumbles like thunder, weeps like willows, drifts like clouds, whispers like wind, bends like bamboo, crackles like fire, swells like the music of the earth.
I am for an art that is infinite.
I am for an art that trickles, runs icy cold up your spine.
I am for an art that smells like fresh laundry, tastes like thick honey, feels like morning sunlight.
I am for an art that invades, disrupts, overthrows, rejects, mutinies, revolutionizes—change.
I am for an art that has changed, changes, is changing, will change.
I am for an art of change.
I am for art.
